Prayers for Santa Clerita shoting victums

Posted on November 14, 2019 at 11:00 PM Comments comments (46)
Another SHOOTING!
Another school campus. This one in  Santa Clarita, CA.

I think it is evil pure and simple!
I know that seems like a non sequitur or unprovable hypothesis yet like Rod Serling used to say on the Twilight Zone, "Submit for your approval" or consideration.
Evil abounds in our world, always has yet seemed to no longer loiter in the darkness or shadows.
The Bible mentions, evil kings, evil things and suggests many actions are enticed by evil thoughts leading to wickedness!

So here we are the wise of this world, you know,  the real deep thinkers are interviewed by the best and the brightest of journalism we hear pontificating on mental illness and the "Evils" of guns.

Maybe this was what society like when the Bible said: "thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time." Gen.6:5(niv)

We need not fear the evil in our world today, the victory has already been won. God is still in control, always was, always will be!
Matthew 10:28
And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
John 10:10
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

We, you & I, must realize where our battle is, it is not political or even social the Bible says "we wrestle not against flesh and blood" this is where that "whole armor" comes in.
Like never before, we have to come to the altar Prayer with revived fervor, this battle is being fought in the Prayer Closet, the War Room if you like!
Paul said to the Romans:
Romans 12:21. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
Peter gave us this:
8. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
1 Peter 5:

Prayer for the families of the victims.
Pray for the perpetrators’ family, Jesus even encouraged us to pray for those that abuse us.
Then Pray boldly in the name and power of Jesus Christ against the wickedness of this present world.

Veterans Day ~ pledge of Allegiance

Posted on November 11, 2019 at 3:17 PM Comments comments (18)
Red Skelton … The Pledge of Allegiance 1971
and a definition for each word:

I -- Me; an individual; a committee of one.

Pledge -- Dedicate all of my worldly good to give without self-pity.

Allegiance -- My love and my devotion.

To the Flag -- Our standard. “Old Glory”; a symbol of Freedom. And wherever she waves, there is respect, because your loyalty has given her a dignity that shouts “Freedom is everybody's job.”
of the United -- That means we have all come together.
States -- Individual communities that have united into 48 great states; 48 individual communities with pride and dignity and purpose; all divided by imaginary boundaries, yet united to a common cause, and that’s love of country, of America.

And to the Republic -- A Republic: a sovereign state in which power is invested into the representatives chosen by the people to govern; and the government is the people; and it's from the people to the leaders, not from the leaders to the people.
For which it stands

One Nation -- Meaning "so blessed by God."

Indivisible -- Incapable of being divided.

With Liberty -- Which is freedom; the right of power for one to live his own life without fears, threats, or any sort of retaliation.

And Justice -- The principle and qualities of dealing fairly with others.

For All -- For All. That means, boys and girls, it's as much your country as it is mine.

Now let me hear you recite the Pledge of Allegiance:
I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic, for which it stands; one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Since I was a small boy, two states have been added to our country, and two words have been added to the Pledge of Allegiance: Under God. Wouldn't it be a pity if someone said, "That is a prayer" -- and that be eliminated from our schools, too?

POW/MIA

Thinking of POW/MIA Week and POW/MIA Day recognition brought to my mind some of my past veterans activities as chaplain to military veterans.

I recall a veterans recognition activity I attend in Colorado Springs CO. where we lived in the later 1990's. I would have attended normally but upon arrival I was recognized as the chaplain serving at the state level for the Disabled American Veterans and was invited to set in the front row.
As I recall I was seated next to an ordinary gentleman in jeans and open collar shirt, he politely introduced himself as “Newt” and ask about me, my chaplains vest and the DAV cap. He seemed appreciative of my activities for veterans.
The program began with a prayer, post the colors, flag salute & recognition of dignitary's then introduction of speakers. When they introduced the man that designed the MIA/POW Flag Mr. Newton Foust "Newt" Heisley ! The nice gentleman next to me stood and walked to the podium, he spoke mildly of the inspiration of the images on the flag and a meeting he had with a wife of a MIA/POW and her struggles with the US Military (Air Force) and her husbands status, 1st she was told he was Missing in Action, then “oh, he is being held prisoner” then the DOD clerk that said “who?” She said it appeared the military had forgotten their pilot, “her husband” was missing!
That lead to the words on the flag “YOU ARE NOT FORGOTTEN”
He spoke humbly pointing to the greater efforts of others that were behind the images that were almost just scribbled on a plain piece of paper that he handed to the spokes person for the National League of Families and became the National League of Families POW/MIA flag.

Gee, I was just setting next to Him!

IDOLATRY

Exo 20:4“You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below.
5.Youshall not bow down to them or worship them;
I am afraid that society has never considered that denying "God" is a form of "hate."
I douhgt the "shooters" had ever heard that from any preacher or from any Christian friends or neighbors.
IDOLATRY can take many forms.
Pastor Timothy Keller wrote: "the idols that drive us are complex, multi layered and largely hidden from us." (Counterfeit gods)
Ones Ideology can become a driving force in every day life. It seems this violence is mostly driven by their ideology!
Hate blinded their eyes, hidden in their ideology is IDOLATRY!
We have let down society with a quiet Gospel, because some shouted "judgmental"! We have tempered our witness to God loves you just the way you are, instead of proclaiming "Therefore hear the word of the Lord" Isaiah 28:14

This present evil

Posted on August 11, 2019 at 9:48 PM Comments comments (25)
Exodus 20:1-6
“I am the LORD your God,". . .
“You shall have no other gods before me."

A society that has not heard these words or heard yet not heeded is a society poorer in spirit.
We preachers, I am afraid, will be judged at the great white throne Rev.20:11-15. We all have been given the Word that is Salvation for our eternal soul.
God intended the Gospel for those with black hearts and evil in their minds. Along with us sinners saved by Grace.
Christ died even for these shooters and today knife wielding killers.
"What the world needs now is love, sweet love" a wonderful song of the 1960's
Today the only thing that is going to overcome this present "evil" is the Name of Christ and the power of the Holy Ghost.
"Not just for some, but for everyone"
It is our calling to share the Gospel of Salvation to our friends and neighbors and yes, even shooters!
If someone had, who knows, maybe the gun and knife wielding souls wouldn't have taken to streets of our cities.
2 Corinthians 5:21 says we all shall appear before the judgment seat of Christ to receive what is due us both "good" or "bad"

~Merciful creator help us pray prayers that moves the hearts and minds of all that need Salvation! Amen

Taking responsability

Mass murders

Ok, get buckled in, hold on to your hats.

Many, ye most won't want to hear this.
Have you ever heard someone say "this will hurt me, more than you"?

The Church has to be accountable to society for the shape it's in !
I fully expect there will be some that will say, take me off the devotion list. Or will just block the number.
Did any of the "shooters" ever read
"Thou shalt not kill"
One translation says: never shed innocent blood !
I doubt any of the shooters saw the "10 Commandments in school.

I have done some soul searching; I can't recall the last time I used Exodus 20, in any way! My bad!
Have you heard one of the mega church preachers preach on the 10 commandments?
Have we heard any of the TV preachers do a sermon on "thou shalt not commit adultery" !
I believe we (the church) have capitulated to Society's accusation that "Christians" are mean or judgmental.

We (The Church) have been quiet with the Gospel, thus letting society down "morally"

Father forgive me!
Empower me in the presence of Your Holy Spirit. My I be endowed with Your Love and emboldened in Your Word !
In the power of Jesus name . . .  Amen

More mass shootings

MORE SHOOTING !
I am aghast ! ! !
My deepest feeling about these shooters is they are COWERDS !
I am a combat veteran. These COWARDS are “wannabees”, they seldom have any idea what our real veterans have done to protect the United States of America and the Constitution of the Constitutional Republic and our citizens.

I am reminded of an old song (I was around when it was first released) It express's the heaviness of my heart and soul.

Where have all the flowers gone,
Long time passing,
Where have all the flowers gone,
Long time ago,
Where have all the flowers gone,
Picked by young girls every one,
When will they ever learn?
When will they ever learn?

As I heard the news of an other shooting, this time at a mall in Texas!
I was still contemplating how to pray for the victims of the California garlic festival shooting.
Then the news broke of a shooting in a crowd of innocent citizens enjoying friends and fellowship in Dayton.

A COWERD with twisted patriotism.

Where have all the young men gone,
Long time passing,
Where have all the young men gone,
Long time ago,
Where have all the young men gone,
Gone to soldiers every one,
When will they ever learn?
When will they ever learn?

It's a Faith problem
society said they couldn't have Faith in a god that allows children to be kidnapped, misused, abused and/or killed. Yet our same society did believe aborting children's lives in the ”womb” was a individuals “right.”
The Christian Church as a whole (a majority of denominations) has been mostly silent, respecting the opinions of others we stood by as The Holy Bible was “band” from schools. A book that says all life is given by a Holy Creator, this life is given by an eternal soul. When a few Christians voiced the truth that life is Holy to God, even “life in the womb.”
Our heathen society screamed at the few “bigots!”, “xenophobes” and if the Christian said “God loves you” mobs screamed back “haters, haters!'
Quote:
“The Church is entrusted with the Gospel” . . . “Our hearts break for the unborn children murdered in the womb, for young girls sold into a life of sexual slavery, . . “
from (counterfeit gospels, chapter six, the quietest gospel by Trevin Wax PhD in Theology)

Where have all the soldiers gone,
Long time passing,
Where have all the soldiers gone,
Long time ago,
Where have all the soldiers gone,
They've gone to graveyards every one,
When will they ever learn?
When will they ever learn?
Songwriters: Peter Seeger, © THE BICYCLE MUSIC COMPANY, For non-commercial use only.

It is the irony in the song that tugs at my heart and how these murders are carried out “when will they ever lean?” It is the evil in the hearts of the perpetrators!
It is the lying evil that deceived Adam and Eve, the same attacker the attack “Job” of the Old Testament. Paul the apostle in the New Testament said it this way: "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."? Ephesians 6 (New American Standard Bible)

I called a problem of “Faith.” Paul calls it “spiritual” “wickedness”!

Abba Father, we trust in Your Godly Mercies for the souls of these lives taken in these acts of wickedness. We pray for the sorrows in the heats of those who morn the loved ones lost.
As Jesus said in the sermon on the Mount called the Beatitudes; “Blessed are they that morn for they will be comforted.”
Thus we pray, in Jesus name. Amen.

Pray for America

The Apostle Paul:
*He cited the call to pray for leaders from 1 Timothy 2:

I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. (v. 1–4)

When Paul urged making intersession “for rulers and those in authority” (v. 2), he followed up with his rationale. It wasn’t so Christians would have better economics, more political power, more cultural influence for sound laws,* or any other sort of worldly gain. He said to pray so that believers might “live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth” (2:2–4). *he wanted the church to aspire to quiet lives. Emperors were immoral; he wanted the church to be godly and holy. Paul wanted the church to be unhindered in spreading the Good News. *So a great way to pray for our Nation & leaders is that they would look to Christ as Savior, live a righteous life, and exercise his authority in such a way that our gospel work can flourish unhindered.
