I have been thinking of something to write concerning the politically charged time we find our selves living in right now.

It is open season from the liberal left on conservatism, conservatives and the “religious right.!”

We {society} are entering into the times that Jesus of Nazareth spoke of; Matthew 10:22

“You will be hated by everyone because of me, . .” The Gods honest truth is those who buy into the lib spiel don’t even realize they are the ones spoughing/spewing hate!

Paul, one of the writers of the New Testament Epistles put it this way:

Ephesians 6:12

“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, . .”

For sure we are struggling against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil.

The violence of the past Jan. 6th. Wasn’t the answer. The darkness can reside in a lot of different hearts.

I found this old post I feel it still applies.

Idolatry

Exo 20:4 “You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below.

5. You shall not bow down to them or worship them;

I am afraid that society has never considered that denying "God" is a form of "hate."

I doubt the "shooters" had ever heard that from any preacher or from any Christian friends or neighbors.

(We will get to "thou shalt not" later)

IDOLATRY can take many forms.

Something as simple as skipping church for NFL on Sunday (not to mention the "Sabbath to keep it Holy")

Pastor Timothy Keller wrote: "the idols that drive us are complex, multi layered and largely hidden from us." (Counterfeit gods)

Ones Ideology can become a driving force in every day life. It seems this violence is mostly driven by their ideology!

Hate blinded their eyes, hidden in their ideology is IDOLATRY!

We have let down society with a quiet Gospel, because some shouted "judgmental"! We have tempered our witness to God loves you just the way you are, instead of proclaiming "Therefore hear the word of the Lord" Isaiah 28:14

Ever been lost?

Have you ever been lost?
I don’t mean missing a turn and pulling into some kind of business to get directions. I mean lost and alone. Do you remember that moment? Maybe you were like me, I didn’t know I was lost until when I was or should have been where I was going.
I have been a hunter and fisherman, walked in and out to that one spot, you know like “floozy creek” or the “lunker hole.” I knew to look for the sun, an outstanding landmark, moss on a tree etc.
I was in my late 20’s maybe 30 years old in the wooded hill of S.E. Oklahoma walking into a thicket I just knew would yield a monster whitetail. I crossed the creek and the pasture to the fence row and crossed into the “thicket.” Others that had hunted in there said there was a meadow on a little rise with a view of almost three sides of the thicket, crossing a fence making my way through the oaks, hickories, spiney bois d'arcs and the vines. Sure enough making my way up a little incline with a briar clinging to my pant leg was a clearing smaller than I had visualized but on the high side a great angle for a shot from left to right.
The sun moved from midday to late afternoon.  On my left the creek I crossed should be less than a half of a mile thirty degrees to my left. Didn’t see a thing but I might see something on the way back to the road.
Less briars going back this way and got to the fence quickly, crossing the fence I looked at the shadows the sun should be on my left. So turning a little to my right and started pushing my way through thick brush again I should come out at that creek. Then I came to a fence! There shouldn’t be any other fence. There is still sun but everything is in the shadows now, so follow the fence I should come back to the pasture.
In just a few minutes along the fence and my heart came up in my throat! This is where I had just crossed the fence.
In my mind, I am saying; I know where I am, I can’t be lost.
But, but I don’t know where I’m going!

Get Lost!
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.— 1 John 1:8Devotion:
We are justified by knowing Christ—knowing Him who is the Son of God, the Savior of men; knowing Him who took our sins upon Himself and died in our place. It is through knowledge and trust in Christ, our Savior that we are justified. Christ shows us in the parable of the Prodigal Son that very frequently the respectable and the religious are often the farthest from the kingdom of God.
How true that is. Have you ever been lost? If not, you are not saved.
For 24 years I lived without the slightest shadow ever crossing my mind that I was separated from God and on my way to perdition. Not until I came to that realization did the door of God’s mercy open to me.

This devotion brought back all of that emotion of that day way back in the 1970’s, and how physically being “lost” fits the spiritual lostness of life.
